Gundowring Ice-Cream
Life at Gundowring is idyllic. As the herd of Holstein Friesians contentedly graze on the lush green grass of the Kiewa Valley, the Crooke Family and their team combine the best local ingredients with the fresh milk from the herd to create a unique range of Ice Cream flavours.
Overlooked by Mount Feathertop, the farm is renowned for its environmental values. Wildlife corridors stretch from the wetlands and river flats to rocky outcrops on the hills, are home to diverse flora and fauna. Revegetation programs have restored riparian zones and bird an animal life is abundant.
Founded by Stephen and Sarah Crooke in 2003, Gundowring Ice Cream strives to highlight the quality and freshness of the rich, creamy milk from their farm. This fresh milk together with cream from the Holstein herd, egg yolks and sugar are blended to create a classic anglaise base, which is combined with selected seasonal fruits, nuts and honey sourced from neighbouring and regional growers to create an exciting medal-winning palette of flavours.
Today Sarah and Stephen’s son and daughter in law, James and Iris Crooke are continuing the tradition, and putting their own spin on the delicious suite of flavours.
